Labor Day

My computer was down and my compu-tech was unavailable. Lucky for me he's local, available evenings, and charges virtually nothing. (How do I get such a deal? He's also my son.) Just wanted to let everyone know that I didn't blog today because I couldn't. He left here about 45 mins ago and I'm back in business. It's so wonderful having a son who knows all ... and I mean ALL ... about computers. His rates are very reasonable. Not sure if I'll blog tomorrow or just wait until Wednesday. You'll find out tomorrow I guess.

Yes kids are good at this, some more than others.
But I am happy you are all fixed up, sounds like the son gets a special dinner made. :)
I am always looking forward to your posts.
Have a Happy Day

I owe my son much more than a special dinner because I didn't tell you everything. I have mentioned in my blog several times that I am called to a life of poverty. The story behind that belief would make a great book but since I can't write, I'll skip all that to say that for the past 22 years every attempt at financial independence has failed miserably. This has been the hardest thing to live out in my life but it is so obviously of God that I couldn't do things my way or in my timing. Every job attempt fell through for mysterious reasons, etc. Even the sure deals. I had a great company that I did some work for on my own here at home and they gave me $500 "until we can get you on the payroll." And then they did nothing. So I have had some sure bets that fizzled big time. Lots of stories. Lots of explanation. So some years back I got the hint from the Lord that I was to rest in Him for my every need. That He would take care of me and all I needed to do was rest in Him. Now that's kind of hard when there's only $10 in the bank account and no job. I get a $200 disability payment each month and my hubby gets a small SS payment (these incomes combined don't even add up to the you-mus-file-your-income-tax level) we haven't had to file a return in 20 years. Like Jesus and the few loaves and few fishes I have seen Him take this small pittance we get and stretch it to take care of our necessities quite regularly. Now I'm telling you all this so I can tell you this: after my son fixed my computer yesterday he and my DIL (daughter-in-law) handed us each a car key and he told me to go look in the driveway. Yes, we have a new car!! Well, it's not brand new but it's 20 years newer that what we had and has had excellent care and keeping for its whole life. Plus it has brand new tires all the way around, brand new brakes, new struts, and a new clutch and the A/C and heater work in it!!! This is so much better than what we had. We had an old 1980 cad and there were so many things wrong with it. Just recently the coolant fan went out on it and so it will overheat if I do more than just run to the Post Office and back. The fan went out the last time we went over the river to do our shopping and we barely made it home. It was so overheated but it did get us home. But we've not had a car that we can depend on in years. We never go anywhere except to do our shopping because we couldn't trust it to get us there and back. It had no A/C or heater, it wouldn't lock. It was really truly falling apart. So here was this beautiful Toyota Corolla sitting in my drive, thoroughly cleaned inside and out, gassed to the max. And it was ours. It's just beautiful and now we can go any where we want to go. Like in Oct. my hubby is scheduled for another surgery on his foot down at the surgery center in Sacramento and we were trying to line up someone who could drive us down and back so Michael could get his surgery. Now we can go by ourselves in our economical little car. As soon as that surgery's over we have to start lining up a surgeon to do the surgery he needs done on his neck. Again we'll be able to go down to see the doc and get the surgery now on our own. This has really truly been a great blessing from God. He used my son and DIL to get us the car we need. God is so good. He has been doing things like this for years now. God is faithful. He will provide. Jehovah-Jireh!! That's why I didn't blog today, I spent most of the day "moving into" the new car. And of course I had to drive it to the Post Office and then later drive it to the store. Oh, I can't believe that we have a car we can depend on now. A car that has receipts for all the maintenance that's been done on it since it was first purchased brand new. Even the tires have been properly rotated every 3 or 4 months. What a great son and DIL!!! So when they go to Hawaii again next month (or is it later this month??) guess who isn't going to take any "pay" for caring for their animals for the week they'll be gone? God has used so many people and family members to pitch in and plug the holes in our budget. I am just so happy that God used my son to help us out and I'm glad he and my DIL were obedient unto Him. God is so good. He has always been there for us and filled in all the holes that needed filling when and where we couldn't. I have just been floating around in the clouds all day today. And as Paul Harvey would say, "and now you know ... the rest of the story."
